Danica Patrick is 31 years old and has been involved in racing for a number of years. She is the darling of writers and TV pundits even though she's way over her head in the Sprint Cup Series. Thought I would keep track this season of Patrick's finishes. Also will compare her to a 21 year old rookie driving for the first time in Sprint Cup.

I think I could outrun Danica my first time out, especially with her equipment.

As for Larson, that kid is the real deal, and I would jut draft with him straight to the front!

They need to go ahead and give up on Danica. If they don't want to replace her with an up-and-coming male, then I know several young up-and-coming ladies that would make Danica lok worse than she is, if that's possible...

Danica would have been better served to stay with the Indy type cars. She's 5 feet tall and weighs 100 pounds. To handle one of those big, heavy sprint cup cars, a driver needs strength and endurance. She's undersized and too weak to manhandle a big stock car for the entire race.

The Danica experiment is simply about marketing and money. Until her popularity and the ability to market her begins to decline Stewart-Haas will keep her ride and smile all the way to the bank. I would think they will part ways at some point or move her back to Indy cars. She will be here at least this year and probably next as well.

Of course you are right Mosi. Money sponsorship talks...especially in these times.


FatDaddy or whatever the name of her sponsor is will tire eventually of her never running up front. Notice she is not spotlighted as much this season as last year. She'll fade and end up back to Indy cars.

Another strong race by young Kyle Larson. Also, another young gun, Austin Dillion finished eleventh for an impressive run.

Congrats to Kevin Harvick for winning his first sprint cup race at Darlington. Harvick started on the pole and had the dominate car leading 239 of the 374 laps. Previously, he had only 6 top 10 finishes in 17 career Darlington races.

Joey Logano won his 5th career NASCAR Sprint Cup race and first at Richmond last night. Jeff Gordon finished 2nd while leading 173 laps. Several drivers got a little feisty during and after the race with two drivers exchanging punches.

Matty, one driver I never seem to notice is Matt Kenseth but he always seems to post toward the front in races and standings.

Denny Hamlin led only 12 laps but he led the last one under caution to win a wild race at Talladega yesterday. Greg Biffle finished second. Clint Bowyer was third with Brian Vickers and AJ Allmendinger rounding out the top five.

Jeff Gordon, despite being winless continues to lead the Sprint Cup Series standings.

Patrick got the best finish of her career last night at Kansas. Rookie Kyle Larson continues to impress...the kid is damn good.

Jeff Gordon takes his first win of the season virtually assuring him a spot in the season-ending Chase for the title. Gordon remains first in the points standing. I said this early on...Gordon is on a mission this year.

*Curt Busch's double attempt ended early when he blew an engine on lap 273 to finish 40th.

*Take's strength and stamina to drive a stock car 600 miles. In a private bet, I won $125 that Miss Danica would not finish in the top 29. Seem like a no brainer to me.

Jimmy Johnson won for the ninth time on the concrete at Dover while notching his second win of the season. Johnson led 272 of the final 319 miles while holding off the field with a late caution flag with five laps to go. Brad Keselowski, Matt Kenseth, Clint Boyer and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five.

Jimmy Johnson won for the first time at MIS outlasting pole winner Kevin Harvick by 1.214 seconds for his third victory in four races. Brad Keselowski finished third, Paul Menard fourth followed by Casey Kahne in fifth.

Jeff Gordon's sixth place finish was enough to keep him atop the points race, with teammates Johnson and Earnhardt in second and third.

Brad Keselowski dominated the sprint Cup Series race Saturday night to become Kentucky Speedway's first repeat winner. The Penske Racing driver followed his record breaking pole effort to lead 199 of 267 laps en route to his second victory of the season and 12th of his career. Kyle Busch was second, followed by Ryan Newman, Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr., who started the race in the 29th spot.
